Cafeteria-Classroom Connection

Use New England Dairy & Food Council’s school nutrition promotion series to create a natural connection with classrooms. Most promotions include teacher letter templates that will help you get things going.

Talk to your teachers about National Dairy Council’s Nutrition Expedition™ Programs for 2nd & 4th grades. Hard copies of the kits are free to all 2nd & 4th grade teachers. School Nutrition Professionals have access to a free online version of the kit. There are many lessons throughout both programs that support cafeterias and classrooms working together.

Build Bridges to Wellness with 5th through 10th grade teachers who want lessons on nutrition and physical activity. This free School Nutrition Association online education program has all the tools and information you need.

Use the Live Well Toolkit from the Nutrient Rich Foods Coalition to help high school age students and adults learn about the importance of getting good nutrition from the food they eat.
